MUSCLE CRAMP
A painful, extended, involuntary contraction of a muscle, often from overuse.
Immediate Attention
1. Firmly grasp the affected muscle and gradually stretch it until the cramp is relieved
2. Gently massage the muscle.
3. Take slow, deep breaths. Imagine the air going into and out of the body through the cramping muscle instead of the lungs.
4. Replace lost body fluids and minerals with water, replacement fluid, or dilute 100% juice.
5. Acetaminophen or ibuprofen for pain.
